Think you need a video camera to create a video? Think again!

Animoto (celebrating their one year anniversary today) provides a quick and dead-simple way for anyone to create a video slide show, that, well, one would hesitate to label a slide show.

Here’s one I made in about ten minutes. Nothing fancy. All I did was upload a few photos, and Animoto did the rest. You get the idea just what might be possible here. Try it! See what Animoto can do for your old boring slide shows.

  1. Viddler - publish and watch videos. Great inline commenting feature!
  2. Blip.tv - Publish your video blogs. Very nice simple player interface.
  3. Veoh - video publishing, TV shows, and more!
  4. Kickapps - Create your own online community. Great tools for sharing video, blogs, photos, audio, a forum, and more.
  5. Ning - Create your own social network using video and more!
  6. ooVoo - Video conferencing for up to six people.
  7. Skype - Video chat for free with anyone, anywhere.
  8. Seesmic - newly launched video commenting system would make a great addition to blogs.
  9. Revver - Publish your videos, and collect a share of the advertising revenue.
  10. Metacafe - Video entertainment site. Loads of stuff.
  11. Tube Mogul - Upload your video once, add meta data and tags… and publish to multiple sites automatically. Plus great tracking tools!
  12. Screen Flow - Record your desktop to show people how to perform certain tasks, use software, etc. Great for simple presentations!
  13. Mogulus - Create your own television network online! Fantastic way to show off your video content. Plus live video features are very good!
  14. Ustream.tv - Live streaming video. Great tool!
  15. Spicd - Don’t make someone sit through an entire video… point to just a snippet. Works with any YouTube video.
  16. Asterpix - Create truly interactive video. Automatically generate hot spots on videos and link to other sites, or even other videos.
  17. Animoto - upload your photos, select a tune… and an automatic movie will be generated with your content. Very slick!
  18. Video Thang - Upload videos and clips. Edit them online. Great tool to get started editing videos yourself!
  19. Qoof - Generate income by creating your own commercials.
  20. Center Networks - video - Great site with valuable news and commentary on video.
