Here are a few QuickLinks to get your shortened week off to a quick start!

The Secret of Web Success - Seth Godin reminds us of the virtue that the unsuccessful rarely practice (patience) and why being patient (and dilligent too) is the right path to success. A good lesson for us all to remember when our video campaigns fall flat, or our blog posts fail to bring hordes of readers. A little moxie goes a long way!

Making Viral Video Work - John Jantsch highlights the recent series of viral videos for OfficeMax (Penny Pranks).

Why Share on YouTube? - Cam Beck raises a lot of questions by posting one video. It’s not even his video, but it is a great video. Get’s me wondering: how can we use other people’s videos for the benefit of our audience?

Be a Better Interviewer - Chris Brogan examines interviewing tactics by looking at media heavyweights. We can all certainly learn something from them and from his analysis.

Screen Casts Rock - Here’s who’s rocking them now -Read Write Web takes a look at a few freelance screen casting creators. Great post to get us all thinking about how we can be using this simple tool for big results.

That’s it for now. Now muster up some moxie and get back to creating! Have a great week!

And it reminded me of something I’ve wanted to stress: Videos don’t have to actually contain video camera footage! With some creative use of visual effects and a music soundtrack, one can create a very professional and engaging video marketing piece that can generate results. This particular piece is launching a new book on internet marketing.

Take a look. Notice. Not one single frame of camera footage.

The phone rings. It’s a customer. She has a question.

A minute goes by. The customer tries to explain her problem.

Another minute passes.

You’re staring at your pile of work to do for the day, wondering how long this is going to take, wishing you could just get back to doing what needs to get done.

Shazam! Finally, you understand the question!

You respond, trying to help her visualize the solution to her problem.

Another four minutes pass while you’re struggling to help her understand.

Hooray! It seems she is on board, “So if I do such and such, it should solve my problem?”

“Yes!” you say.

“Great! Thank you for your help!”

And…. finally… you’re off the phone.

You look at the clock.

Ten minutes have disappeared. Whew! Back to the pile of work on your desk.

Then, the phone rings again.

Sound familiar?

Here are three ways you can use video to automate time consuming processes in your business and save valuable time:

Video FAQ: Create a video library of solutions to frequently asked questions and place them on your web site. When a customer has a question, they will often look to your web site first, and only when reaching a dead-end will they pick up the phone.

Video training: Every time you hire a new employee, you have to spend days or weeks getting them up to speed. The things you teach them are often the same. Why not record the training you do ONCE with video and use it over and over again.

Video sales materials: Whether a standalone selling tool, or a tool your sales staff can use in phone calls and presentations, videos can be great ways to demonstrate your products, while saving valuable time normally spent trying to help the prospect visualize things.

Look for time consuming tasks in your business. Would creating a video help to automate the process?
